You dont need a Diffuser to use Essential Oils – Learn 8 other Creative ways

The first thing that comes to mind to most people when they hear the term essential oils, is that you need a diffuser to use it. But there are myriads of other ways how you can use them to get the benefits. Below is a simple guide explaining different ways how you can use essential oils at home.

1.  Spray : For use as a Room Fresher or Mosquito Spray


Take a clean plastic spray bottle (used for spraying plants) and half fill it with clean water.  Add 8 – 10 drops of a refreshing and uplifting essential oil to the water and shake well. When you need to perk up a room, shake the bottle and give the room a couple of quick sprays.

Easy Mosquito repellent spray : 2 cups of water + 5 drops of lemon essential oil + 10 drops of Basil essential oil + 20 drops of Citronella essential oil.

2.  Foot Bath : To pamper your tired feet


When your feet are dead and hot, pamper it with a soothing and refreshing aromatherapy footbath using just 2 or 3 drops of cooling and refreshing essential oils such as Peppermint, Rosemary and Lavender oil. It will bring you delightful experience and have you back on your feet in no time at all.

3.  Balms or Massage oils


Essential oils can be combined with carrier oils such as coconut oil, jojoba oil etc to make balms or massage oil which can be used for various ailments such as cold relief, body pain, acne etc.

4.  Put 1 -2 drops on the pillow to sleep better


5.  A nice relaxed Bath


An aromatherapy bath can be a soothing retreat or a reviving experience. For use in the shower, after your regular wash, put two to three drops of your favorite essential oil on a facecloth or sponge and give your body a quick rub-over while standing in the running water and inhaling the fragrance.

6. Spot treatment for skin problems like acne


You can apply tea tree oil directly to the skin, using a q-tip or cotton ball, or you can combine a few drops with honey or aloe vera for a milder spot treatment.

7. Use in a compress


Dilute your chosen essential oil in water, then use this solution to soak a cloth to use as a compress on your forehead or other areas. The compress may be hot or cold, depending on its intended purpose.

8. Dry evaporation


A few drops of essential oil can be put on a cotton ball or tissue and allowed to evaporate into the air.
